CORN OIL

CORN OIL

Corn oil lives in the germ of the corn plant. During the alcohol production process, corn is ground into a meal and run through a fermentation and distillation process to create and isolate the alcohol. After the alcohol is removed the remaining corn matrix still carries with it the residual corn oil. That corn matrix is run through a centrifuge process that separates and extracts the residual corn oil. The extracted corn oil is a crude oil high in fat content. Its main uses are for biodiesel production and as an animal feed.
